Brookeville Knolls HOA Board of Directors Meeting

Zoom

7:30 pm, Wednesday, March 18, 2026

Attendees: Maria B, Jim D, David K, Brad S

a.     Call Meeting to Order – Maria B. called meeting to order @ 7:33pm

b.     Review / Approval of February 2026 minutes - Motion to approve passed.

President’s Report

a.     Maria B. sent January meeting minutes and the March meeting date to Ryan to update our website.  Complete.

b.     GOCA website also has a direct link to Roads; able to report missing signs, blocked signs, areas where grass hasn’t been mowed, etc. Ryan M added this link to the Frequently Asked Questions, but Maria B. suggested he make this more prominent. Maria B. asked Ryan if he can add this to the header. Maria B. provided suggestions to limit the number of tabs. Maria B. will follow-up with Ryan.

c.      GOCA: Maria B. attended March 10th meeting.

o   Joe and Maria B. will write up nomination for Paul J. from Cherrywood; sent 1/31/26. Paul received the Citizen of the Year Award at the 3/14 awards ceremony.

o   Senate Bill 758 passed, which changes how HOA elections can be held. We can no longer take nominations from the floor or accept nominations by acclamation. Many emails were sent by GOCA members to try to get this changed or defined more clearly. Maria B. asked for a status on this; did GOCA ask for clarification; no update.

o   Maria B. asked if GOCA needs to vote on the approval of the proposed new church off of Old Baltimore Road.  Mentioned concern over the proposed use on Friday evenings and Sundays. I cannot believe anyone would spend this much money on a church that can hold over 800 people for use twice a week. We need more information on their proposed use. Others agreed; this will be added to the April agenda.

o   Police Chief Yamada and Commander Smith presented:

§  Focus on recruiting; they are down 19% out of 1200 positions.
