Brookeville Knolls HOA Board of Directors Meeting

7:30 pm, Wednesday, February 18, 2026

 

Attendees: Maria B, Jim D, Maria H, David K, Joe K, Brad S

Call Meeting to Order Maria B. called meeting to order at 7:36pm

Review / Approval of January 2026 minutes Brad motioned to approved the January minutes as written; David seconded and all were in favor.

 

President’s Report

a.     Maria B. sent December meeting minutes and the February meeting date to Ryan to update our website.  Ryan posted. CLOSED.

b.     GOCA website also has a direct link to Roads; able to report missing signs, blocked signs, areas where grass hasn’t been mowed, etc. Ryan added this link to the Frequently Asked Questions, but Maria B. suggested he make this more prominent.

c.      GOCA: Maria B. and Joe attended February 10th meeting.

o   Upcoming GOCA awards ceremony scheduled for March 14th at Good Counsel HS.

o   Presentation by Magruder Cluster Coordinator to review County’s plans and priorities for school enhancements.

o   Presentation on North Branch Traill, separate from the Bowie Bike Trail.  North Branch Trail build will begin summer of 2026 and take one year to construct.

o   Senate Bill 758 passed, which changes how HOA elections can be held. We can no longer take nominations from the floor or accept nominations by acclamation. Many emails were sent by GOCA members to try to get this changed or defined more clearly.

o   Transportation Committee: Starting 2/1/26, senior and disabled will be able to use Ride-On buses for free.

o   Olney Fun Run and Walk – moved to spring

 

Treasurer’s Report

·       Total Reserves

·       Operating Account

·       Trash Account

·       David changed the CDs to 3 month CDs

Member-at-Large Report 

·       Joe provided updates on SB36 and HB239.

o   These bills were presented on 2/112. The vote was supposed to be on 2/18

 

Architectural Committee:

 

1.     Sheds

2.     ACRs

3.     Unkempt Homes:

6.     Homeowner letters

a.     18664 QE Drive

7.     Reserve Study

8.     Encroachment

9.     Misc. Items:

a.     Board member training

10.  Trash program renewal - CLOSED

a.     Maria B. signed the new agreement with trash company.

b.     David sent trash program renewal letters.

c.      Maria B. sent email to HOA letting them know the trash program letter is forthcoming.

11.  Code of Conduce / Conflict of Interest Forms

 

New Business:

a.     Snow removal needed on sidewalks not in front of homes: corner or QE and HH Drives and Dartmoor Lane to Route 108. We received an email from a HO about this. Maria B. suggests we ask our mowing contractor for an estimate to do this work.

b.     Scheduled March meeting for March 18th at 7:30pm.

 

Maria motioned to adjourn the meeting at 8:45pm. Brad seconded and all were in favor.
