Brookeville Knolls HOA Board of Directors Meeting

7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2024

Attendees: Maria B, Maria H, David K, Brad S, Joe K

Review / Approval of June 2024 Meeting Minutes

Motion to approve the minutes by Brad, David Seconded the motion.

President’s Report

·       New members of the board to complete training; status?

o   Brad and Joe still need to complete; Maria B. will resend the link

GOCA

o   GOCA has direct link to 311 website on their website, we would like to have a similar link on our HOA website. Maria B. will review with Ryan M. No new updates

o   GOCA also has a direct link to Roads; able to report missing signs, blocked signs, areas where grass hasn’t been mowed, etc. Maria B. will review with Ryan M. No new updates

o   Joe and Maria B. attended July 9th meeting. County Council Members presented on the Attainable Housing Initiative.  They also attended the follow-up in-person meeting with the MoCo Planning Board on July 16th.  Joe and Maria B. attended the meeting, planning committee attended and presented. There will be future meetings and public hearings.  

Treasurer’s Report

·       Budget Report from David.

·       Account Balances

·       2 Resale packages

·       1 Condo member was paying their condo fees to us, David refunded the owner

Member-at-Large Report

Updates on possible paving companies to replace B&B Paving, No updates from B&B. Looking into a few new companies currently. Will report further in the future with more information.

Old Business:

1.     Grounds Maintenance / Landscaping Projects

2.     Trees

a.     Maria H. indicated that we need to follow-up on tree plantings as discussed at the 2022 and 2023 Annual Meetings. We need trees planted to replace the many trees felled over the year. We need to pick trees that are smaller and less likely to fall over. Maria H. contacted the County and they submitted a request for us; still waiting to hear back.  Maria H. stated that she would try to follow-up with the County again.  No updates yet.

·       Joe announced that Brian Hill with B&B Paving is currently working on a large golf club project and them will be retiring. Joe asked him to provide us a recommendation for another paving company. Joe will research other options.

New Business:

a.     Discussion annual dues for 2024-2025

▪       Discussion of raising HOA dues 5% or 10%, discussion of ensuring accounts and expenses will still be covered by the new dues. Decision to raise dues by roughly 5% to $320 per member. Maria B. motioned to approve raising HOA fees to $320, motioned approved.

b.     Schedule August Board of Directors Meeting - proposing August 21st
