MINUTES

Brookeville Knolls HOA Board of Directors Meeting

7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2024

Via Zoom

 

Attendees:

Maria B                         Maria H

David K                         Brad S


Maria B. motioned to begin the meeting at 7:06 and start without Maria H. and Joe. David seconded and Brad was in favor.

Review / Approval of December 2023 Meeting Minutes

Brad motioned to accept the minutes as written.  David seconded and all present were in favor.

President’s Report

·      Update on January GOCA Meeting

o   GOCA Meeting was contentious, supposed to be a vote on the upcoming Maryland legislation, specifically MC 8-24. After much discussion, a vote to oppose the legislation passed. 

o   Presentation from Rippling Brook Camp/Pre-school.

o   MC 11-24 Speed cameras on the ICC; legislation still pending at state level.

o   Membership renewal for GOCA. Maria B. sent the renewal form to David to complete and submit payment. David asked if we want to donate $25 for the police substation or increase the donation. Maria motioned to increase donation to Police to $50, motion passed.

o   GOCA will meet at Sandy-Spring fire department starting next month. Meetings will also be virtual and start at 7pm.

 

Treasurer’s Report

·       Fewer delinquent homeowners on HOA dues. 

·        

Vice President’s Report

o   Maria H. reached out again to the County about the trees, no response.

 

Secretary’s Report – no update

 

Member-at-Large Report – not present

 

Architectural Committee

 

Old Business:

 

1.     Grounds Maintenance / Landscaping Projects

a.     Grading/Water Run-off Issue - Maria B. sent identified questions to Boyer and copied the BOD on 3/14/23. Maria B. sent a follow-up email. No response yet.  Maria B. will send another email or try to call.

b.     Sent to Joe to review.  Company who provided estimate has not responded to questions about the proposal. Maria B. will follow-up.

 

c.     Maria B. contacted Johnson re. survey completed previously. They sent a copy of the last survey which indicates there are markers near the driveway bib at Georgia Avenue. These may have been covered by asphalt when that driveway bib was installed. Johnson indicated this could be checked and is to provide a cost estimate to do so. No response yet on the estimated cost. Maria B. sent a follow-up email; still no response.  Maria B. will follow-up.

 

2.     Trees

a.    Maria H. indicated that we need to follow-up on tree plantings as discussed at the 2022 and 2023 Annual Meetings. We need trees planted to replace the many trees felled over the year. We need to pick trees that are smaller and less likely to fall over. Maria H. contacted the County and they submitted a request for us; still waiting to hear back.  Maria H. stated that she would try to follow-up with the County again.  Maria H. reached out again, no response

A.    Discuss mowing contract request for bids

a.     Maria B. to send bid request to current company

B.    Schedule February Board of Directors Meeting

a.     Feb 21st 7pm

 

 

Maria B. motioned to adjourn at 8pm. David seconded and all were in favor.
