Brookeville Knolls HOA Board of Directors Meeting

7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 21, 2024

Attendance: Maria B, Maria H, David K, Brad S

Review / Approval of January 2024 Meeting Minutes

            Motion to accept the minutes as provided to the Board via email. – Motion approved. Maria H. Motioned, David Seconded, Brad and Maria B. approved

President’s Report

·      Sent emails to community regarding recycle pick-up changes for MLK Birthday and President’s Day holidays.

·      Trash program letters and emails went out to members who participate; responded to several questions from homeowners. A couple of homeowners did not get the letter and David emailed them their forms; a couple asked about the costs, which did not increase.

·      Maria B. met with Diane about a potentially dead tree that may be on HOA property. Determined this tree is on HOA property; Maria B. sent Diane a release form and notified Pupkar to review this tree.

·      Trash dumped near condos; Maria B. notified TH condo management company. Maria B. also asked New Generation to pick up this trash and they did.

·      GOCA Meeting report – discussed MD Legislature regarding property usage, funding the people’s council. GOCA updated their website, we should add a link on our BKHOA website to GOCA website. Maria B. will ask Ryan M to add this link.

Architectural Committee

Old Business:

1.     Grounds Maintenance / Landscaping Projects

a.     Grading/Water Run-off Issue - Maria B. sent identified questions to Boyer and copied the BOD on 3/14/23. Maria B. sent a follow-up email. No response yet.  Sent to Joe to review. Maria B. to follow-up

b.     Maria B. contacted Johnson re. survey completed previously. They sent a copy of the last survey which indicates there are markers near the driveway bib at Georgia Avenue. These may have been covered by asphalt when that driveway bib was installed. Johnson indicated this could be checked and is to provide a cost estimate to do so. No response yet on the estimated cost. Maria B. will follow-up.

2.     Trees

a.     Maria H. indicated that we need to follow-up on tree plantings as discussed at the 2022 and 2023 Annual Meetings. We need trees planted to replace the many trees felled over the year. We need to pick trees that are smaller and less likely to fall over. Maria H. contacted the County and they submitted a request for us; still waiting to hear back.  Maria H. stated that she would try to follow-up with the County again.  Maria H. Reached out again, no response.

5.     Mowing Contract

a.     Horeb sent proposal for landscaping contract for 2024, no price increase. Maria B. forwarded to the Board and the proposal was approved. Maria B. signed the proposal and gave to David for second signature. David suggested that Brad sign the proposal. Since David pays the invoices he shouldn’t sign the contract.

New Business:

1.     Schedule March Board of Directors Meeting

a.     Tuesday March 19th, 7pm

2.     Possible HOA meeting for all residents first week of April 7:30pm
