Audit performed by Geoffrey B, a local CPA. A letter of engagement has been signed for the 2017 – 2018 fiscal year Our web site is up and running….thanks to new Board Member Ryan M. Check it out and please make suggestions for content. BrookevilleKnollshoa.com. The HOA documents are posted but anyone selling their house must order a resale packet by sending a check for $50.00 to BKHOA, P.O. Box 393, Olney, MD 20830. Newsletters and other community information is also posted. Retained landscapers to mow, clean up & mulch the common areas. Organized two common grounds clean up days which were well attended and very successful. Worked with an arborist and tree company to maintain and, where necessary, take down trees or prune them in the interest of safety. Homeowners need to be aware that trees in the common area are felled and left where they fall; they are not hauled away due to prohibitive cost. A major expense was the felling of many diseased trees due to the Emerald ash borer. Mulch from these trees is available in the common area for use by homeowners. The arborist advised that the ash borers only live in live trees. Repaired the asphalt path where it had sunk and also where tree roots had caused severe damage Addressed several concerns from individual homeowners A designated Board Member continually monitors the gmail account so as to provide timely responses to community members comments, requests or questions. Continued to prepare and send out newsletters on a regular basis. Please note that Newsletters are no longer mailed so a concerted effort was made to update emails. Designated a Board Member to attend GOCA Meetings with other Board Members attending on occasion. Conducted a survey on behalf of GOCA (Greater Olney Civic Association) to obtain comments about Olney as a community and the BKHOA’s members wants, likes and dislikes. Reviewed many architectural and grounds change applications. Continued to provide trash service to members via a contract with Potomac Disposal Worked on updating the Architectural Guidelines which will be completed in 2019. Revisions will be sent to all Homeowners Discussed possible solutions to “unauthorized vehicle” traffic on the gas line with Williams Transco Pipeline Purchased Annual Meeting signs to be installed around the community as a reminder to attend
Looking Forward
Involve more community members in the operation of the community Community social event Path repairs as needed Landscaping maintenance and possible upgrades as the budget permits
