Board Member Reports:
President:
- HOA website coming in 2018.
- Just discovered approximately 30 dead ash trees in our common areas. Walked through the wooded area with an arborist who determined they need to come down. The Board signed a contract for this work, which is supposed to begin mid-November. There will be large piles of chipped wood. Anyone that wants the wood chips should feel free to take them. The arborist will also chip up fallen branches throughout the wooded area. Signs will be put up.
- The Board signed a new 2-year contract with Potomac Disposal. They raised our rates slightly, but we did not pass that on. We have enough funds in our trash account to cover the increase.
- Looking forward, we still need an Architecture & Grounds committee.
- We had a successful Community Clean-up Day twice this year, which a good turn out of volunteers each time.
- Looking at path repairs; Joe offered a technical specification that should be used for path repair work.
- Looking at a member survey to gather community input on various items, such as community signs.
- Mary thanked the Board for their continued service. She called out Judy for her role over the past several years. She also noted that Steve, who’s term ended in 2016, passed away in September.
Treasurer:
- Budget review
- Joe motioned to accept the budget as presented. Terry seconded and all were in favor.
Other Business:
- Mary reminded homeowners of the following:
- Submit Architecture and Change Request forms for any changes to their homes.
- Put away trash and recycle bins in your garages, not in front of them.
- Gas line is not to be dug up.
Member Comments:
- Questions about $48 bill from WSSC – this is insurance for the pipe from the street to your house and is optional.
- Dues – Anita asked about unpaid dues and in the past liens were places on homes. Mary indicated we still place liens on homes.
Terry motioned to adjourn the meeting at 8:45 p.m. Stu seconded and all were in favor.
